Respite Starts Here with Channel Islands Social Services!
Families caring for a loved one with special needs have enough to worry about in their everyday
lives. They can't afford the added stress of recruiting and employing their own caregivers,
and they need to be in control of who supports them!
We are here to help.
We will hire someone the family already knows and trusts, or
we will recruit someone for the family to interview, and then we take care
of all the payroll wages, taxes, and mandatory CA withholdings.   After all...
RESPITE SHOULD BE RELAXING, NOT TAXING!

Have you heard? Respite changed on 10/1/09!  Families can only use up to 90 hours/quarter now
(or 3 month's worth of respite)
and hours cannot be saved up and used all at once. Hours expire
and re-start at the end of each quarter (Sept. 30, Dec. 31, March 31, and June 30). If a family
needs more than 90 hours per quarter of respite, they need to call their Service Coordinator
and ask for an exception.
